Take a break letting your children plan while picnicking in the Al Brandt City Park on State Street. You will be awed by the huge log pile in front of the Lumber Mill bordering Hwy 12 west of town. If you continue west for just over 2 miles you will come upon the entrance road to Capitol Forest on your right. Follow the meandering Cedar Creek to the snow covered peaks.
