"The incorporation election held Tuesday at Oakville resulted in a majority in favor by about two to one. Oakville has made a very encouraging growth this season; besides dairying and farming, the lumbering interests are on the increase. There are now in operation four sawmills and one shingle mill, besides a number of logging camps. There is a great quantity of cottonwood along the river bottoms which could be used in box, excelsior or paper manufacturing. "
